Famous and Forgotten Sieges - Private Walking Tour
We detail many of the sites of the Famous Siege of Derry in 1688/89 in detail and explain their historical significance. We also discuss other lesser known sieges and battles in the city's history, both ancient and modern.
This tour is currently only available as a public shared tour in August to tie in with the Relief of Derry Celebrations usually held on the second saturday of August, or on request as part of a private or custom designed tour throughout the year.
In particular we cover in detail the Great Siege of Derry 1688-89, but also 2 other sieges in 1641-42 and 1649 as well as other prominent battles in the city's fascinating and turbulent history, including aspects of the city's role in the Second World War.
